Community Family Care Services

Community Vision has strong family centered focus which influences the diversity of programs and its work in the Community Family Care Services team.

Services currently available include:

Family Day Care Scheme
The service offers quality childcare in a home environment. Community Vision, in partnership with Family Day Carers ensure that a high standard of care is provided. Each Carer is licensed to care for children aged 0 to 12 years. The Scheme offers a range of affordable child care options, including weekend and overnight care.

The Scheme (Funded by the Commonwealth Dept. Families, Community and Indigenous Affairs) operates at the offices on the Ground floor of the City of Joondalup Main Administration Centre.

Child and Youth Respite
A programme that supports children and youth with disabilities and their families with respite activities including overnight, weekend and school holiday support. The service encourages families to pursue activities together without excluding the child with a disability, while a trained carer supports that child.

(Funded by Disability Services Commission WA)

Kinship
Kinship comprises of two streams of services: respite for people with disabilities of all ages across the life span; and goal-based mentorships for people with disabilities aged above 18 years old. Kinship also provides:

  • school holiday activities and support to youth aged 13 - 17 years old.
  • A cooking course for people aged above 18 years old.
(Kinship is funded by the Disability Services Commission WA)

MY VISION
This program is designed to provide Post School Options, Alternatives to Employment and Intensive Family Support Services to individuals with disabilities who are pre-approved and individually funded to receive such services by the Disability Services Commission.

Community Vision became an approved provider for this service by the Disability Services Commission in 2004. The first clients commenced with the organisation in February 2005. The programme is called 'MY VISION' and is operated out of Community Vision's Kingsley Resource Centre five days a week.

The service delivery style of MY VISION is one that is individually tailored, goal based and enhanced by the one-to-one support links established between participants and Community Vision's staff.
