Child and Youth Respite ServicesCommunity Vision, through the Child & Youth Respite Programme, assists families living with a child with a disability with their respite needs. The Child & Youth Respite Programme aims to link families to the type of respite support that is most suited to their needs. This can include in home support or care, community based support, parent and sibling support groups, and school holiday support (Community Vision’s CREATE School Holiday Program). Respite, or support, is provided by Community Vision’s fully trained Client Support Personnel over 7 days a week (excluding Public Holidays). The services provided are for a short-term basis only. However, if families require extended support they are able to purchase additional services through the program. To be eligible for services the child must be aged eighteen (18) years or younger, must meet the criteria for either level 2 or 3 services with the Disability Services Commission, and live at home with a carer or their family. Participants can live anywhere in the Perth metropolitan area, however priority is given to individuals living in the Northern corridor (particularly Joondalup and Wanneroo).The aim of the Child & Youth Respite Program is to provide a positive experience for the individual receiving respite. Community Vision promotes a philosophy of inclusion, where young people living with disabilities are encouraged to participate in community activities. This program is funded by the Disability Services Commission. Registration and costsParticipants are required to be registered with the program to access services. Child and Youth Respite participants also incur a $10.00 Annual Membership Fee once services have been received.If you are interested in finding more out about the Child
